The meeting hub was my first ever partner project, which was difficult, yet proved to be successful. Inspired by USM furniture, specifically the Haller system, our hub reflected connection through design. The floor plan was connected by five circles, which in reality were coffee and pastry bars that are able to be spun to serve four different rooms at the same time. All walls but one were also eventually connected to perimeter walls.
The wall material that we chose was glass so that when meetings were being held in one room, people would still be able to see what is going on in the surrounding rooms, hence connecting each group’s meeting to another. The cafĂ© was located in the center of the space, which created a central area for people to meet and socialize, connecting easily with each other.
The photos included were my major contributions to the project.
