The kiosk project instructed me to design and place a kiosk in either Central Park or Grand Central Terminal. I designed a bike kiosk which was to be placed in Central Park near a central meeting area for many of the bike riders.
The design includes a snack bar by the outside and inside of the kiosk, computers that provide information about NYC biking trails, meetings, and events, and an area for quick fixes if a bike broke down. My design was circular to reflect the bike tire, the most important part of the bike. I also wanted to reflect the Loeb boathouse, which is right next to where the kiosk would be placed. I did this by the use of the hip roof and simple architectural design.
